I get my smoked paprika and spices from Mother Nature’s where they are inexpensive and organic. This marinade is amazing on grilled chicken as well just make sure and marinade for 6-8 hours instead.
Serves: 4
  • Marinade
  • Juice of two lemons
  • ¼ cup of olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons of fresh minced oregano
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika (or sweet if you can’t find smoked)
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher or flaked salt
  • Fish
  • 1.5-2 pound filet of fresh wild caught salmon
  1. Mix up all your marinade stuff in a bowl with a whisk or toss it in the blender and give it a whirl. Nestle your salmon filet in a bowl cover with the marinade and let sit for ½ hour. Meanwhile, lightly oil your grill and heat it up to medium-high.
  2. When you grill is nice and hot, cook the salmon, flesh side down, for 4-6 minutes, depending on how thick the filet is, then carefully flip and grill on the other side.
  3. Drizzle the left over marinade in the bowl over the fish and cook for 5 more minutes with the lid closed or till the salmon gets slightly opaque in the center.
  4. Don’t overcook! If anything, undercook and let rest for 5 minutes and it will be perfect. Serve with a fresh salad and rice with oregano leaves in them.
